1 Corinthians 11:17-34
Beginning in ch. 8, Paul has been giving specific and helpful instructions for the gathered church of Christ- and this focus becomes much clearer in ch. 10. In this portion of the text, Paul focuses on the community meal of the church, what is called the Lord’s Supper, and deals with its purpose and abuse. As with the head-covering issue earlier in the chapter, the way that the church fellowships together is very indicative of its relationship with God in Christ, and its recognition of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ in his atoning death for the sins of men.
