1 Corinthians 3:16-23
At the end of chapter 3, Paul circles around to his argument going back to 1:10- there is a wisdom of men, and there is a wisdom of God. The sins which Paul has admonished in ch. 3 all have to do with the wisdom of men- only the wisdom of men would exalt a man over Christ; only the wisdom of men would build a life with temporary and flammable materials; only the wisdom of men would trivialize the church of God, the temple of the Spirit. So Paul will conclude this section of his epistle by strongly denouncing the arrogant wisdom of men, and exhorting God’s people to humbly pursue the wisdom of God instead.
