Isaiah 6:1-7 Now we turn from God’s incommunicable attributes to his communicable attributes. In the Scriptures, only one attribute is thrice emphasized, and that is God’s holiness. Holiness means first of all God’s exclusivity or otherness, the fact that he alone is God and there is none other like him. Secondly, holiness means God’s moral purity. This purity is the logical derivation of the eternal wisdom of God, who understands perfectly all facts, concepts, and ideas, and thus knows the relationship between righteousness and life, and sin and death. The people of God are called to reflect the holiness of God in their own lives, by the saving grace of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit.
