Colossians 2:11-15 We are now building on the foundation Paul constructed last week. Paul stated that we must watch out that no one takes us captive in the battle of worldviews. There are many variations of false worldviews, but there is only one correct worldview. The correct worldview is the biblical worldview, which emphasizes the centricity of Christ. A false worldview, by contrast, could be any number of options; from a close imitator of the biblical worldview, to an outright denial of it, to a pursuit of eastern religions, or Greek philosophy, etc. Our text is dealing with our salvation- the work of Christ, our response of faith, and the ongoing effects of new life. When we come to a text like this, we commonly look for the “do”: what does God want me to do for him. But in our text this morning, Paul emphasizes what God has done for us in Christ, and our response will be expounded in the following two sections of the text.
