1 Corinthians 14:10-19
Paul continues his weighty discussion on the nature and purpose of the gift of tongues, building on the foundation that he laid last week in the first nine verses. As we continue through the text, we discover that Paul becomes more and more specific in his teaching and application. We are reminded from the outset that all the spiritual gifts, including tongues, had one great purpose: the edification of the body of Christ; and where this purpose was not being fulfilled, the gifts were being either misused or abused. So Paul continues his correction of both the misuse and abuse of this gift.
