Luke 7:36-50 Jesus went to the house of Simon the Pharisee to eat supper. While he was there, an individual who was identified only as a woman and a sinner began to weep in Jesus’ presence, washing his feet with her tears and wiping them with her hair. Simon was outraged that Jesus would let such a defiled person touch him. Jesus compassionately explained that this woman’s actions were appropriate, and a demonstration of her great love for him. He explained that those who had been forgiven much would thus love much; and Simon knew nothing of this.
