Colossians 4:4-9 What is your commitment to the gospel? Certainly, if you are a Christian, you are committed to the ideal of the gospel, and the theological tenets of the gospel- that Christ came into the world to save sinners, that he was born of a virgin, being the God-man, that he lived a completely sinless life; that he died upon the cross for your sins and mine; that he rose again from the dead on the third day; that he ascended up into heaven, and that he is coming again for his own. All those who accept the person and work of Christ in repentant faith thus accept the gospel, and will be saved by grace in consequence. I assume you agree with me this far. But let me ask again: What is your commitment to the gospel? How much of your soul does it possess? Paul explains the necessary depth of commitment in our text today.
